The Most Popular Types Of Flooring For Any Home
The Most Popular Types Of Flooring For Any Home It is no secret that choosing new flooring for your home can be a daunting task. There are not only tons of different materials that you have to syphon through. There are also a wide variety of colors, makes, and manufacturers that you have to consider as well. This is not to even mention the traffic and the abuse that the flooring will take over the years. You donât want to put cheap and inexpensive flooring by the front door where it is going to take the most abuse. The same concept would apply for flooring in a home gym. This is why it is imperative to know the options available to you for making your selection. Below you will discover some tips that will help you choose the right flooring for your home. What You Need To Know About Laminate Throughout your search for flooring materials you will quickly discover that laminate flooring is without a doubt one of the most popular choices around. Not only is it extremely easier to install when compared to most other materials, but also it is much more affordable. Laminate floors are constructed of a variety of different wood-based materials. These materials are layered, glued, and laminated together before being topped with a wood grain imprint and this is where the name laminate comes from. You also have something that is referred to as engineered wood flooring materials. This type of flooring is almost the same as laminate flooring, except for the fact that is actually contains real hardwood veneer. These veneers are attached to a variety of different plywood layers. While this might get a more authentic appear in certain rooms, it does raise the price a bring more than traditional laminate. Considering Bamboo Flooring Materials If you speak to any professional at Dublin Flooring Store they will tell you that there are a lot of misconceptions surrounding this type of flooring. One of the major misconceptions that most homeowners make is that they automatically assume that this type of flooring is constructed of trees like traditional hardwood flooring. Unfortunately, this is not the case, as bamboo flooring is actually comprised of lightweight woody grass. However, do not be fooled by this, because this fast-growing and regenerating grass has the same strength of steel and can take a beating. In addition to this, bamboo is highly resistant to swelling and warping, which makes it ideal in conditions where humidity might be an issue. Bamboo flooring is constructed in the same manner as traditional hardwood, as it contains tongue and groove joints. This does make the installation process a bit more tedious and the durability and versatility will also raise the price. Hardwood Hardwood is the one of the most popular types of flooring in the United States. There are two type of hardwood flooring, including solid and engineered. Depending on your budget, you may find it in your best interest to choose solid wood flooring, which is available in thicknesses of 1-1/2 and 2-1/2-inch. Engineered wood flooring is constructed of a variety of wood composite veneers and wood. This type of flooring is very unique, as it has grains that run in different directions. These directions ensure the stability of the wood, so it can withstand high and extremely low temperatures, as well as high humidity. Solid wood flooring is constructed out of a solid piece of wood. To safe money, consumers can choose a brand that is not sanded and unfinished. However, if this is a project that you are undertaking without professional assistance, you may find this option unsuitable for your needs. In fact, it will take longer to complete such a project, compared to the refinished solid wood option. It truly depends on your budget and how much you are willing to spend. Tile Flooring Ceramic tile is extremely easy to access, as it is available at both big box and specialty flooring stores. Tile offers both advantages and disadvantages, but it is extremely versatile. Tile is suitable for indoor and outdoor environments as long as it is installed correctly. As mentioned above, there are a variety of advantages of ceramic tile flooring. These advantages include resistance to high humidity and moisture. However, the level of resistance will depend on what type of ceramic tile you choose. Glazed tile is more resistance to moisture, as compared to unglazed tile. In the real world, most consumers choose glazed tile because it requires less preparation and is more accessible than unglazed tile. The downside to tile flooring is it is vulnerable to cracks and chips. However, if it is installed properly it is possible to reduce the risks. There is also the risk of mold, but again this is most often the result of poor installation.

The Myth of Career Bliss Why Chucking Your Career Doesnt Solve Your Problems - Kathy Caprino
The Myth of Career Bliss Why Chucking Your Career Doesnt Solve Your Problems Iâve spent eight years working with individuals to achieve successful professional growth, change, and reinvention. I know a good deal about the process personally too, as Iâve traversed a number of diverging career paths over the past 20 years, including corporate marketing, market research, marriage and family therapy, coaching, writing, speaking, and executive recruitment. If you asked me my views on career reinvention five years ago, I would have said some very different things than I do today. So whatâs different? In the past three years, Iâve learned whatâs required (for myself and others) to navigate through highly challenging financial times while at the same time successfully achieving a more fulfilling professional life. Iâm not talking about pie-in-the-sky, follow-your-bliss nonsense here. Iâm talking about real-life positive career and life change that lasts and continues to reap benefit and reward. The Myth of Career Bliss But today, as new clients come to me â" both men and women I see an alarming myth that thousands of midlife individuals have been suckered into believing. Itâs hitting baby boomer folks hard, and honestly, I donât see this same myth prevalent in younger generations. I call it the âmyth of career blissâ the damaging, misleading notion that all it takes to make your life happier is to chuck out your old, unsatisfying career, and come up with a new one, despite what else is falling apart in your life. Hereâs how the story goes: A midlife professional woman comes to me after 15+ years of corporate work. Sheâs awakened to the following realizations, and they hurt: It feels as if her work has no contributive value in the world any more (for instance, she feels sheâs âsellingâ something that doesnât matter at all or isnât of positive influence in the world) Sheâs bored out of her mind doing the work she knows best Her family needs her substantial income of $100M+ Her husband and children have grown accustomed to her overfunctioning and her perfectionism, and donât want things to change too much. (Note: she handles over 75% of the domestic responsibility as well as her full-time job, and sheâs worn out, stressed and depressed. And her overfunctioning has held her husband back from contributing his fair share, financially, domestically, and otherwise.) She feels an urgent need to change her personal and professional situation Sheâs in a financial trap, not having saved enough money to take several years off to re-strategize, gain new education or training, and reinvent her career path On top of these stresses, there are relationship, behavioral and other issues with her family members (elderly parents, children, spouse, etc.) that need urgent addressing Despite the fact that numerous dimensions of this individualâs life are truly in âbreakdownâ mode, she believes that itâs a new career she should focus on, as (in her mind) that will bring her life the joy, peace, excitement, meaning, health, and purpose she longs for. The problem is, itâs simply not true. In her case and for hundreds of thousands of individuals in the world today itâs not a wholesale career change that will bring you the satisfaction and peace you want. Instead, itâs taking hard, urgently-needed action that addresses the root causes of your troubles that will make the difference in your career and life. Busting the Career Bliss Myth: The Top Six Steps You Need to Take to Change Your Life for the Better Hereâs what has to happen for your life to change for the better⦠and it isnât job change, for now. 1) Power up and speak up â" Figure out who you really are, and what youâre intrinsically worth as an individual in this world. Start honoring what you want to create in your life, and make your partner at home a real partner so youâre not doing everything at home and everything for everyone else around you (see Facebook COO Sheryl Sandbergâs powerful TEDTalk on this and two other key behaviors that will propel women forward in the workforce). 2) Build a stronger, more empowered relationship with money â" take control of your finances. Know down to the penny what you need to earn, and learn how to save more, manage better, and grow your money. 3) Determine your three TOP life priorities, then make sure youâre attending to those before you even consider career change. For instance, if youâre dealing with a serious health issue, or a childâs behavioral problems, or the need to move, or youâre facing foreclosure, you must attend to these priorities first. 4) Stop procrastinating and get going look at where you feel most disempowered and helpless in your life and your career today. Take steps to address these power gaps. Unless you do this in your life and job now, your problems will follow you no matter what new career path or job you take. 5) Re-purpose and re-focus your skills and talents â" In these very challenging employment times, rather than throwing the baby out with the bathwater and chucking your whole career spend some critical time with a trained and skilled career coach, mentor, or advisor who can help you identify what youâre truly great at and enjoy doing, and determine the best, most appropriate way to bring forward these talents and skills in a job that fits your needs. 6) Then develop a S.M.A.R.T. transition plan to get you from where you are today, to where you want to go. In short, donât look to career reinvention to solve your problems. It wonât. Only you can solve your problems. And the time to start dealing with them is now. What are your top three life priorities today and are you addressing them?

Best steps to find a job in 2020 -
Best steps to find a job in 2020 - Planning for a job search is a multi-step process. Since you are busy, you need to ensure you set yourself up for success by identifying the job skills you need, assessing your qualifications, creating marketing materials and networking. Once youve begun to check those items off of your list, take these additional steps to set yourself up for job search success: Determine how you will communicate what you are worth. Once you know what you offer, youre on the right track, but the real trick is being able to convince other people that you have what it takes. Being great isnt enoughâ"you need to be able to communicate your value to employers. The best way to do this is via a consistent stream of information from your social media profiles. By showcasing your expertise online, you are able to help convince people who follow you online that you really are an expert in your field. Your resume and online portfolios (including your LinkedIn, Twitter, and any other profiles, for example), are equally important, so dont neglect one in favor of the other. When you can communicate your value, its much easier to successfully interview for a job. Apply for the right jobs. Stop applying for jobs youre not qualified to do. Do not apply for every opening at an organization, and never blanket applications without ensuring you are a good fit for the positions. It will not help you to apply for positions if you dont have the necessary skills, so dont waste your time. Target and identify specific organizations where you want to work. Focus and targeted should be your buzzwords when you job search. Select organizations where youd like to work, and make a point to learn everything you can about those companies. Can you hone in on any specific problems they have that you can help solve? Do you know people who work in the places where youd like to work? Should you set up an informational meeting with one of those people? Who would be most likely to be willing to make an introduction for you? Identify allies for your job search. Avoid appearing desperate. Instead, be the professional you are, explain what youre looking for, and be specific when you meet new contacts who have the capacity to make a useful introduction for you. You cannot focus on your job search when you talk to people about your goals; if you do, you become just another desperate job seeker. Instead, focus on what you have to offer: ideas, suggestions and expertise relevant to your field. Offer it in exchange for an introduction to someone at one of your target organizations, and youll be on your way. Eliminate information from your resume that confuses possible employers or causes them to say, hmmm.Once you follow all of these steps, you need toseal the dealwith application materials that dont confuse the recipient. Dont include jargon or acronyms on your resume that dont relate to the job youre applying for and dont incorporate details on your resume that dont specifically identify why you are a good fit for that job. The last thing you want to do is confuse someone who receives your resume. If you are careful enough to pass the initial computerized resume review, dont squander your opportunity by mucking up the works with a lot of extra, unimportant information in your materials. Step by step, youll be well on your way to landing a job on your targeted list.

How to Make Money Resume Writing For Success
How to Make Money Resume Writing For SuccessIt is a myth that resumes are the most important aspect of any job search. This may be true in some cases, but in many cases employers look at resumes much differently than they do a CV. There are various ways of writing resumes and applying for a job and how to make money resume writing can help you learn about these techniques.Firstly, you need to keep your job description on the resume. In fact it is crucial that you do not alter this. It will work against you in a job interview. If you do not state what you will do for the company, how will you know if the employer wants you for the job?You need to develop a job history for your potential employer and keep them informed of what positions you have been in before the interview. This can help to avoid awkward questions later. It is better to list all the jobs you have held in the details, but you should always give the employee the right to deny anything you state in the resume. Only menti oning the exact position should be enough. Many people believe that job offers are based on the salary that is listed on the resume, but this is not true. The more valuable information that should be included is experience and qualifications. The employer will be looking for more than that, but it is usually the price you pay for getting a job. Many jobseekers believe that a strong resume is the first step in a job interview, but this is false. Jobseekers need to think hard about their resume, especially when they are already getting multiple job offers. A well-written resume will get the employer's attention, but if it is not written well, it could come across as unprofessional. The trick is to use common sense when writing your resume. Do not repeat job duties and responsibilities, but always try to list all the tasks and responsibilities that you have done previously in your new job. On each page, make sure to add things such as the job duties, attendance, current skills and experie nces. Don't forget to mention whether you are in a training program or will not be returning to a previous job. This method of job hunting with an online resume writing service has many advantages over other forms of job searching. By taking advantage of the wide range of free services, you can develop your resume into a unique document that fits you and your situation.

The Stranger Things Cast Are All Getting Raises for Season 3
The 'Stranger Things' Cast Are All Getting Raises for Season 3 The Stranger Things cast is about to have their finances turned upside down. All of the series regulars on Netflixâs supernatural thriller are reportedly getting major raises ahead of season 3 and will make at least six figures each episode, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The castâs salaries are on different tiers determined by star power and acting experience, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The âAâ tier is Winona Ryder (Joyce) and David Harbour (Jim Hopper); the âBâ tier are the kids â"Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas) and Noah Schnapp (Will); the âCâ tier is Natalia Dyer (Nancy), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan) and Joe Keery (Steve). But what tier is breakout star Millie Bobby Brown in? It turns out sheâs in a league of her own, somewhere between tier âAâ and tier âB,â making more than the other kids on set, but not as much as the more experienced adult actors, according to the The Hollywood Reporter. She reportedly negotiated her salary separate from the other child actors. Both Habour and Ryder are now expected to make somewhere in the range of $300,000-$350,000 per episode. And the child stars of Stranger Things are also getting a sweet deal, reportedly being bumped up to as much as $150,000-$250,000 per episode. Regardless, all of the series regulars will be doing just fine â" all of their salary increases are roughly 12 times what they were making prior to renegotiating their deals. The salary negotiations come just weeks after a pay gap was leaked on another Netflix show â" The Crown. The producers of The Crown said Matt Smith, who plays Prince Phillip, made more than Claire Foy, who portrayed Queen Elizabeth II in the first two seasons. While it is unclear how much more Smith made than Foy, producers have since apologized to both of them and vowed to pay the next queen more. (And in real life, Queen Elizabeth II makes much more than her husband, Prince Philip.)

6 Things Passion For Work Is NOT - Work It Daily
6 Things Passion For Work Is NOT - Work It Daily Imagine a world where more people loved what they do for a living. Related: Why Itâs Absolutely Necessary To Discover Your Passion People who are successful in building a brand all have at least one thing in common: They are have an expressed active passion for what they are doing. What Is Passion? Passion is not talent. Passion is not knowing a lot about a topic. Passion is not masterful performance of a task. Passion is not being hailed as an expert. Passion is not having a lot of experience doing something. Passion is not the skill youâve gotten really good at in your current job. Passion is about the enthusiasm you have for something. Itâs the thing you get energized just thinking about. Itâs the topic you never get tired of learning about. Itâs what you never get tired of talking about. Itâs where your creativity soars. Itâs being in that zone where you forget time, space, and even hunger because you are so engaged in what you are doing. My passion is connecting people with information, ideas, opportunities, and resources in order to see them grow from bright to brilliant. Itâs what Iâve been doing in some form in every major career milestone: as a teacher, trainer, instructional designer, and now coach. It is one of the things that make me an excellent coach and speaker: I love finding and sharing information. Where someone else may get bored or frustrated hunting down information, I relish the opportunity to find and share what I discover. How Can Passion Help Build Your Brand? The people that change things and make things happen, or that inspire others to move forward rarely do so because they mandate that their ideas or status to the people they connect with. They inspire and spark transformation through their passion for their company, idea, product, project, and so on. Thatâs because passion is contagious. Having a well-positioned brand opens the door to a place of influence and impact. If you canât get genuinely excited about what you are doing, how can you expect to have lasting impact and meaningful influence with people and in situations? Be Careful Itâs very tempting to attempt to build a brand on whatever the latest âbuzzâ is. But will it last? Will you get tired of it after three or six months just when youâve got a firm foothold on establishing your credibility? Building your brand around what you are passionate works for you and for those you work with. Think about the last time you encountered someone who genuinely enjoyed their work. What was their attitude like? How did they treat you? How did you feel after working with or speaking to them? Would you be more inclined to hear their idea or tune them out? Now, think about your own brand - how would your career take off if you found a way to incorporate your passion into your work and into the brand you want to build? Would you be more eager to contribute to your team? Would you be less stressed at the end of the day? Would you attract more opportunities and positive people that could help you take your career to the next level? This post was originally published on an earlier date.
